The UML Automatic system is activated when the trigger capsule comes into contact with water. The capsule is equipped with a compressed spring held by a paper element. The paper element dissolves when it comes into contact with water and releases the spring which pushes the plunger with a sharp tip forward which perforates a hole in the CO₂ cylinder. The piston with the sharp point allows the compressed CO₂ in the cylinder to pass through the gas hole in the holder and inflates the life jacket.Show less
