Pyrad electric arc
Pyrad Electric Arc is a completely new range of work clothes approved to cope with arc flash
Wenaas has worked closely with SINTEF to develop this arc flash-approved clothing concept for the power industry – and especially for work in extremely cold, wet and windy areas. Pyrad Electric Arc is a new collection of lighter garments which, in addition to improved safety, feature excellent comfort and allow optimal freedom of movement.
Pyrad Electric Arc is ISO certified
The Pyrad Electric Arc collection has been tested and ISO certified in relation to arc flash, antiflame, antistat and visibility. The clothes, which are permanently waterproof and breathable, have been specially developed for workers in the power industry. The collection actually comprises the lightest clothes of this kind on the market, and is certified in accordance with EN 61482-1-2, class 2. The clothing concept also includes head protection adapted for use with ear protectors and helmets, as well as gloves and safety shoes.

Research shows that 14% of injuries resulting from arc flash accidents are caused by people not wearing approved work clothes. In many cases, the reason for this is a perceived lack of comfort and convenience. With the new, light and comfortable Pyrad Electric Arc collection, we can now offer workers in the power sector a set of clothes that allows more freedom of movement and offers improved comfort and greater safety.
