Energy & Industry
In the energy and industrial sectors, the oil and gas industry is perhaps the most affected by demanding conditions and high risks. The right workwear is essential to ensure safety, comfort, and performance in the workplace. When it comes to industry itself, we distinguish between light and heavy industries. All sectors require clothing that protects against hazards such as heat, flames, electrical arcs, chemicals, and extreme weather conditions, while also providing good mobility and comfort.
Wenaas is a pioneer in the development and production of workwear based on workers' needs. We have built a professional environment that is unique in the Nordic region, and this expertise has positioned us at the top of the market.
Workwear for Energy and Industry
What are the important factors to consider when choosing workwear in this industry?
To ensure optimal protection and comfort, workwear for this industry should have the following features:
Flame-resistant materials
Prevents ignition and limits the spread of fire
Antistatic properties
Reduces the risk of sparks in explosive environments
Durability
Materials that withstand high stress and demanding working conditions
Ergonomic fit
Provides good mobility for long work shifts
Material selection for saltwater and moisture
Workwear made from materials that withstand corrosive environments, including saltwater and oil.
Breathable and lightweight materials
Comfort for long shifts in varying temperatures

Workwear for Industry and Energy
Workwear for heavy industry and energy must be robust, functional, and safe. It should provide protection against mechanical wear, heat, flames, chemicals, and electrical hazards, depending on the working conditions. Durable materials, flame-resistant properties, and high visibility are key factors. An ergonomic design and a good fit ensure comfort and freedom of movement, allowing workers to perform their tasks efficiently and safely in demanding environments.
In demanding work environments where safety is crucial for life and health, a risk assessment is essential as a starting point for selecting the right equipment for employees. What hazards are different workers exposed to, and what needs to be considered? We cannot conduct the assessment for you, but we can provide some tips on aspects that should be included in the risk evaluation.
The work environment in the energy and industrial sectors presents specific challenges
- Exposure to heat and flames – The risk of explosions and fire requires flame-resistant clothing.
- Static electricity – Antistatic clothing prevents sparks that could ignite gas or vapors.
- Extreme weather conditions – Windproof and waterproof materials ensure comfort in demanding outdoor environments.
- Exposure to chemicals – Protective barriers guard against splashes and vapors from hazardous liquids.
- Heat stress – In hot work environments, heat stress and heat stroke should also be considered.
