Transportation

Wenaas' production is spread over large parts of the world, depending on raw material access, volume and available production capacity. Our qualified Purchasing Buyers make sure to utilize rational access to materials with available capacity to reduce the need of transporting raw materials and finished products back and forth over large distances. To reduce the need for unnecessary transportation and ensure regular and predictable deliveries, we have built up warehouses in Norway, Scotland, The Netherlands and Singapore, in addition to strategic partners in the USA and Canada.

As part of our ESG strategy, Wenaas collaborates with international leading logistic transport companies with comprehensive commitments to decarbonizing climate emissions in their services for air, ocean and overland freight. According to EEA rail and waterborne transportation is preferred and best for lowest carbon emissions. To ensure environmentally efficient transportation from Asia and America Wenaas uses ocean shipping to our Logistic Senters in Norway and Europe. In some cases, trains are an alternative to shipping or in combination. Airfreight is only used in situations with extremely urgent deliveries and counts for less than 0.5% in Wenaas.

Currently, Wenaas is working with DHL for inbound transportation. A company that actively reduces their cardon footprint and sets high social and governance standards. For outbound services Wenaas collaborates with PostNord. PostNord climate transition is an ongoing process and has ambitions of being a fossil-free transportation company by 2030. Both DHL and PostNord have dedicated guidelines and regulations to ensure responsible and ethical business practice within their organization, transportation providers and suppliers.
